Which foundation is the best?

I have lots of acne and redness on my skin. My face is also very oily and gets shiny and oily when I apply most foundations. I was wondering which drug store brand (such as maybelline, revlon, etc) would be best for my type of skin? Powders, liquid, cream foundations? Please, school starts in a week and I need new makeup that matches my skin tone, cover my blemishes, and doesn’t get all shiny?

The best bet for you is a powder foundation – either loose or pressed powder. Maybelline has a loose powder mineral make-up that has gotten good reviews. Their liquid version of their Dream Matte Mousse line is actually pretty good too (but don’t get the actual mousse form – the liquid is much better).

L’Oreal also makes a foundation in a stick form that works really well.

Just make sure you wash you face at the end of the day. Use a good cleanser and take at least 1 to 2 minutes to wash your face so it gets a good cleaning. Then follow up with toner (Olay has one for about $4 that works really well) to help soak up excess oil and remove everything your cleanser missed.

Buy a translucent powder to set your liquid foundation with (if you choose a liquid) or to touch up throughout the day if you get too oily. You can also buy blotting sheets (that are oil-obsorbing) for mid-day touch-up’s.
