Makeup artist in need of good translucent finishing powder for photo shoot?
Hey there yahoo, here’s the deal:
I’m putting together my makeup portfolio for a job application, and I’m holding a photo shoot for it next week… I’ve been gathering a few more things for my kit that I don’t already have and I was wondering about your opinion on these products….
what are your thoughts/comments/reviews/suggestions when it comes to a good translucent finishing powder… it needs to look REALLY GOOD in high-def pictures! that means not cakey, works with ALL skin tones, not too visible, and does a good job in setting foundation and controlling oil….
here are the 2 I’ve been considering:
1) Revlon photo ready translucent finisher (available for about $20)
2) Makeup forever HD Macrofinish powder (available for about $30)
I haven’t used either of these before and I was just wondering which you think would be better… thanks!

Congrats on your upcoming photoshoot. What I would suggest is the MUFE HD Powder, but also, I have found an alternative one that works just as great, but is way more affordable. It is ELF’s HD Powder, which I believe is only like 6 or 8 bucks. Link is below:

Another handy tip to keep in mind when you are shooting photos is to not use any products such as foundation or concealors that include any SPF. The SPF in combination with the flash from the camera makes the models face appear white in pictures causing that white ghostly face effect.
