why do people hate on drugstore makeup when it is just as good as department store?

I watch youtube alot and I noticed that all the makeup tutorials are always hating on drugstore makeup and use products like MAC and smashbox.

I think this is bocus to think that because it is expensive it works better

I like MAC’s eyeshadows but to me they don’t give people a natural look it always make you look like you spent hours on your makeup

I love covergirl products and so too Revlon. They used those products on America’s next top model and Project Runway.

What makes people frown on drugstore makeup?
I just want an answer I am trying to attack anyone.
I could agree with the fact that some drugstore makeup tends to make you look white.

For me it is a color selection issue, i am a very light color to the point where only MAC and Make-up Forever carry a shade that is my color. I also dislike that most drugstore make-up brands are powdery and not pigmented, I have MAC eye shadows that I have had for years and drugstore brands barely last 3 months before turning to dust. I have several thousand dollars worth of MAC and MUF and though I could have more if I had bought drugstore brands, I prefer quality over quantity. As for looking natural, that is more in application than in the products, I can apply my make-up to look like I have none on at all, but what is the point of wearing make-up at all then, i prefer to have my make-up show up and love that I can spend 15 min having my make-up look like I spent hours on it with higher pigment colors than the hours it actually takes using lower quality, lower pigmented colors
