What are the best eyeshadows out there?

I have a problem with using eye shadows from the drugstore makeup brands, along with Avon, some Mary Kay and Clinique. The problem is that most of the colors do not show up on my skin very well, unless it is really dark. I’ve found one Revlon eyeshadow quad that works but I like diversity. I’ve been told that I need highly pigmented eyeshadow but I’m not sure which brand would be the best. I’ve heard Smashbox is really good but I haven’t tried it yet.
Has anyone else had this same problem? Any other suggestions?

I love Mac eyeshadows they are high pigmented and last all day.
The only down fall is the price I guess.
I actually bought a makeup kit from Claires…believe it or not…the shadow palette is super high pigmented and has every color under the sun…it works great for evening makeup when you add a little water to your brush.
My friend recently bought a Kat Von D shadow palette which she is in love with.Those are pricey aswell,but if you wear darker smokey eyes than its for you.They last for ever.
Another great option you can try…is Benefit’s Lemonaid.
Its an eyeprimer that you throw on before you put your shadow on.Works great!
