Nail base/top coat and other nail care products, is Revlon better than QVS or are they pretty much the same?

I am just started to learn how to really take care of nails and would also like to start using nail polish. There are so many brands to choose from and I have a budget to keep, so I’d go for the brands I am more familiar with and used more often: QVS and Revlon. Since Revlon is more worldwide known, I wonder if their quality would be better as well? I just want products that takes good care of my nails and minimize any cancer-prone or other health-risk hazards. Thanks!
