Foundation help please?

Well I’ve been using Neutrogena’s skin clearing foundation for a little while now but, it’s starting to make my face really oily. Since I have oily skin already I thought I would switch over to Revlon’s Color Stay Foundation since it can control the oil a bit. Well, I’ve been having a really hard time finding my color..when I was using Neturogena’s I used “natural beige” and when I switched to Revlon I tried Early Tan and had to return it for a darker shade, so I tried Natural Tan and it’s still too light. I’ve noticed that Neutrogena’s colors are a bit more warmer.. So my question is how can I get the right color for my skin..? Or at lease how can I determine if it’s my right skin tone? I’ve heard that your hand is a couple shades lighter then your face..is that true?

When you waant to match your skin for foundation the key is coverage. If you want a lot of coverage match the tone to the outside of your arm. (Hands tend to shed skin faster making them a tiny bit too pale to use.) If coverage doesnt concern you use the inside of your wrist. Youll find that the inside and out side of your arm usually differs about a shade. Also on the note of oiliness if you can compromise some blemish coverage try switching to a powder. It lets your skin breath more. In the summer I found that my face tended to get all oily and ew so I switched to trying Color Stay Mineral powder foundation and my skin went back to normal after a few weeks. If you still want to use liquid foundation may I recommend a finishing powder? You have to try Palladio Natural Rice Powder from Sallys. I think it was designed for oily skin and it is a little bit on the heavier side of powders but its seriously great! It makes my face feel really smooth and it keeps any kind of moisture at bay.
