Make Up for the Mature Woman

Make Up for the Mature Woman involves a little more attention.  Even if you have looked after your skin really well over the years with moisturizer and cleansing and occasional masks and have not had too much exposure to the sun, it is inevitable that you will have a few lines.

This is not a big problem so no need to obsess about it as there are some fabulous products on the Market that can be applied to minimize these lines and give you a flawless Make Up.  

As with any aspects of a Makeover, it is always good to ask the experts in Department Stores or your personal beautician.  If you have not been to one of these, give yourself a treat and book a facial or Make Up session.  It is well worth it.  You do not need to buy the products the beautician recommends, you merely want advice on the best way to apply the Make Up.  Sometimes, they give free consultations to get you through the door so look out for these.

Otherwise, as mentioned above, Department Stores are a good bet as they have so many counters with excellent Make Up ranges from reasonably priced to very expensive and give you demonstrations on your own face.  One favourite product I use is Clinique because these products do not contain perfume and they are perfect for all types of skin.  This range is also available all over the world.  

Clinique now have a great product which is called Pore Minimiser and this will fill in the fine lines on your face as well as what it is designed for, to minimise big pores, before you apply the Make Up.

They have also developed other Make Ups which cover the skin really well.  Best of all is their City Block SPF 25 which is also tinted and serves really well as a foundation and has prevented me for many years from getting sunburn.

It is of utmost importance to apply sun screen on a daily basis.  Doctors recommend that you protect your skin this way even in the winter months as the sun can also be quite strong then.

Dermalogica has a moisturizer which is also a sun screen and tinted and this too will serve as foundation.  Apply powder over this and your make up is done.  As the golden rule is ‘less is more’, this should be a good everyday cover for your skin.
